The path of enhancement

Galileo Chini, a pioneer of twentieth-century Italian art, has left a legacy of beauty and innovation that continues to influence contemporary art and design. The path of valorization represented here is a journey through the life and works of Chini, which aims to rediscover and disseminate his extraordinary contribution. At the base of everything is the Chini Archive, fundamental to understand the work of Galileo and his life, today physically preserved on the third floor of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni of the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation.  The archive was digitized between 2012 and 2014 thanks to the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca which allowed its online publication.

Today, thanks to the Tuscany Region and the Chini150 project “Open doors”, with this new site and with the construction of the Chinian network we aim to make Chini’s work accessible to all, to educate the public about his historical and cultural importance and to experience how his work can still inspire artists, designers and art enthusiasts around the world.
